Teletherapy in action

Check out this great video of Occupational Therapy using Teletherapy.

How do I start teletherapy?

How to Get Started?

During this challenging time and in an effort to continue proper care of your child, Bi-County Therapy is offering several ways to maintain your therapy schedule. You are now able to take advantage of our new “Teletherapy” sessions, which are conducted privately through video conferencing, that can be done on any device.

If you want to utilize Teletherapy, Bi-County Therapy requires your written consent to conduct teletherapy with you, your family member, or your child.  You can simply hit  "Reply" to the  email  that will be sent by your therapist with the word “YES” indicating your approval and desire to participate in Teletherapy.

What to expect?

What to Expect

At Bi-County, we are taking all measures to make sure your Teletherapy session complies with privacy regulations and provides a positive experience. By consenting, you agree that you understand there is a very low level of risk with regard to your Teletherapy session being exposed to someone else.  Therapists will take every precaution to conduct your session in private, but you must also do your part to maintain privacy.  Once you request Teletherapy your therapist will send an email with a link that you will use to access the session, and any materials you might need for the session. It will also include the written consent and we will then follow up with a phone call to confirm your appointment.

Get Ready!

Contact your therapist to start Teletherapy. You will receive a link to access your therapy session, and a list of materials that you will need for the  therapy session.

Preparing for Teletherapy

Preparation Prior to Appointment

Your therapist will prepare you prior to each Teletherapy session since parental involvement is an important element. In essence, you will become the ‘hands’ of the therapist from the convenience and safety of your home.

If you have any questions along the way, please do not hesitate to contact your therapist directly. The office can also assist you: just email stephanie@bicountyslp.com

The evaluation is usually 30 mins, but sometimes longer depending on the insurance and MD requests.
The therapist will get background history and do a test to assess the patient.

Once the evaluation is completed, a report will be written and sent to the doctor.

The doctor will sign the plan of care.
Treatment will get authorized, and then the office will call you to initiate therapy.

In your first visit, the therapist will go over the evaluation and complete any items left questioned. Goals from the evaluation will be addressed with different therapy techniques and materials as deemed appropriate.
Frequencies of therapy is driven  by your individual's needs and will be offered within the realm of your insurance benefits.

Co-pays and deductibles are due at the time of the visit.
There is a no-show fee. You MUST cancel with 24 hours notice or you will be charged a $25 fee per therapy. This fee must be paid before your next therapy visit.
