Teen/Young Adult Group
Is your teen or young adult looking to get out of the house?
Do they struggle to make friends?
Do they need help with social interaction?
BiCounty’s teen group/young adult group might be the answer!
The group will be composed of teens and/or young adults who may struggle in group situations or need a social outlet with peers.
Groups will focus on having fun participating in different activities while engaging in social interactions and improving social skills.
Each group will be facilitated by a therapist who can support positive and engaging interactions all while having fun!
With the pandemic behind us, we have noticed that preschool children are demonstrating gaps in their development and learning due to limited exposure in their communicative, motor, and social experiences during the pandemic. This workshop will allow children to get exposed to the "what to expect aspect" of school and different routines which will be required of them during the school day. Our team members will be leading this program as allied professional who worked in the schools and private practice as early intervention specialists. At the end of each day, staff will teach you ways to stimulate your children and make the transition to the school process easier. Parents will be given ideas and activities on how to assist their children to enhance success as they begin their schooling experience and further understand where the child is having their difficulties in communication, learning, and motor skills.
LITTLE CHEFS:
A feeding group for problem feeders
Is your child only eating certain textures or avoiding certain textures of foods?
Is your child only eating a limited diet?
Is your child throwing tantrums or showing anxiety around food?
Is your child refusing to eat food that they ate before?
BiCounty therapy can help!
Each week, children who are picky eaters or problem feeders will meet at the clinic to “cook” simple recipes and play, smash, smear - and ideally - eat their way through a variety of foods.
Staff will use play based and evidence based interventions to address the individual feeding needs of your child in a fun friendly manner with peers. The group will be led by a speech therapist and an occupational therapist with extensive experience in a wide range of treatment techniques.
Parents will receive strategies and activities to use at home to encourage food exploration.
